R 5 Arreté
The Audiovector R 5 is a premium floor-standing loudspeaker that combines advanced acoustic engineering with elegant Danish craftsmanship.
Positioned between the R 3 and R 6 models in the R Series, it incorporates technologies developed for Audiovector's flagship R 10 to deliver a highly refined listening experience. Designed and handcrafted in Denmark, the R 5 aims to provide exceptional musical realism, dynamic performance, and compatibility with a wide range of high-quality audio systems.
The R 5 features a true 3.5-way design with three custom carbon-fibre drivers and Audiovector's latest Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter. Two bass drivers perform different roles—one reproduces the full bass range while the second is dedicated to the deepest frequencies—creating powerful, controlled low-end performance. A dedicated midrange driver delivers clear vocals and natural instrument reproduction, while the AMT tweeter offers fast, detailed, and extended high frequencies with minimal distortion.
A major focus of the R 5 is reducing distortion and improving transient response. Audiovector's Accelerated Force Concept (AFC) minimises driver inertia for faster, more precise movement, while the Low Compression Concept (LCC) reduces air pressure behind the drivers, allowing them to move more freely during demanding musical passages. The redesigned motor system improves magnetic symmetry, giving the drivers greater control, speed, and accuracy across their entire operating range.
The cabinet is engineered to enhance both performance and aesthetics. Its slim front baffle reduces edge diffraction, helping create a wider, more accurate soundstage with precise imaging. The Arreté plinth features an open-slot design that improves airflow around the bass reflex port while increasing stability and lowering the speaker's centre of gravity. Integrated mechanical decoupling and precision-machined spikes further minimise unwanted vibrations and cabinet resonance.
The R 5 also includes several proprietary Audiovector technologies to optimise system matching and long-term performance. A three-position damping adjustment allows users to tailor the speaker's bass response to different amplifiers, ensuring excellent tonal balance regardless of the electronics used. Premium crossover components receive double cryogenic treatment to enhance signal integrity, while the speakers are available in a range of luxury finishes, including Black Piano, White Silk, African Mahogany Piano, and Italian Walnut, with custom colours available on request.
