The Audiovector Trapeze Reimagined is a modern revival of the company's original 1979 Trapeze loudspeaker, the first speaker designed by founder Ole Klifoth.
While it retains the philosophy and distinctive appearance of the original, it incorporates more than four decades of advances in loudspeaker engineering. The design remains focused on achieving linear dynamics and linear phase through a true first-order (6 dB/octave) crossover, with the goal of reproducing music as naturally and coherently as possible.
The speaker is a three-way floor-standing design featuring a proprietary 12-inch bass driver, a 5-inch high-resolution midrange driver, and Audiovector's latest Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter based on Dr. Oskar Heil's original concept. Together, these drivers are engineered to produce a smooth, even frequency response and a spacious, lifelike soundstage while delivering deep, controlled bass, detailed midrange, and clean, extended treble.
A key feature of the Trapeze Reimagined is its unconventional asymmetrical cabinet, which is designed to minimise standing waves inside the enclosure. Combined with a felt-covered baffle that absorbs unwanted diffraction around the midrange and tweeter, the speaker creates a more focused, three-dimensional presentation with improved imaging and reduced cabinet coloration. These design elements help reproduce recordings with greater realism and precision.
Audiovector has also integrated several proprietary technologies into the Trapeze Reimagined. These include Double Mechanical Decoupling to isolate the cabinet from the floor, Damping Factor Adjustment to optimise compatibility with different amplifiers, Freedom Grounding to reduce electrical noise and distortion, and Natural Crystal Structure (NCS) treatment, which cryogenically processes components to improve signal transmission. Additional technologies such as Low Compression and No Energy Storage are intended to preserve dynamics and transient accuracy even at high listening levels.
The Trapeze Reimagined combines vintage-inspired aesthetics with premium craftsmanship. Each cabinet is hand-finished in real wood veneers or custom-painted finishes produced in Denmark. The speaker is also generously braced to reduce vibration while maintaining the distinctive angled cabinet shape that has become synonymous with the original Trapeze. The result is a loudspeaker that blends classic Scandinavian design with contemporary engineering.
In terms of performance, the Trapeze Reimagined is specified with a frequency response extending from 23 Hz to 53 kHz, an 8-ohm nominal impedance, 88 dB sensitivity, and power handling up to 450 watts.
