Centre Voice
The ProAc Centre Voice is a dedicated centre-channel loudspeaker designed to reproduce natural, clear speech and provide a realistic centre image in a home cinema system.
Its compact cabinet measures 195mm high, 439mm wide and 202mm deep, with a weight of 10kg. It is suitable for stand or shelf mounting and has been engineered to integrate seamlessly with other ProAc loudspeakers in a multichannel system.
The Centre Voice uses two ProAc 127mm (5-inch) bass/midrange drivers featuring Pagina Mica cones with acoustic coating. These are partnered with a ProAc 25mm (1-inch) silk-dome tweeter with air cooling and inner damping. The hand-built crossover uses different filter slopes to achieve smooth integration between the drivers, with high-quality components mounted on a dedicated circuit board and multistrand oxygen-free copper cable used throughout. The crossover is also split to support optional bi-wiring and bi-amplification.
With a nominal impedance of 4 ohms and a sensitivity of 88dB at 1W/1m, the Centre Voice is designed for amplifiers rated between 10 and 100 watts. Its frequency response extends from 50Hz to 30kHz, providing the bandwidth and power handling required for home cinema while also delivering good bass weight from its relatively small enclosure. ProAc designed the speaker to perform equally well with music, combining clear vocal reproduction with detailed sound, dynamic range and accurate reproduction of film soundtracks.
The Centre Voice is supplied with an acoustically transparent Crimplene grille, with magnetic grilles available on certain finishes. Standard finishes listed by ProAc are Mahogany, Silk White, Cherry and Walnut, while Rosewood and Ebony are available as premium finishes at additional cost.
