K10
The ProAc K10 is the flagship floor-standing loudspeaker in ProAc’s K Series, designed to deliver a highly natural presentation with exceptional midrange detail, an expansive soundstage and deep, extended bass.
Its substantial cabinet measures 1499mm high, 297mm wide and 457mm deep, with each speaker weighing 57kg. The cabinet design has been developed specifically to accommodate ProAc’s large Kevlar bass drivers while maintaining the controlled and natural presentation characteristic of the K Series.
The K10 uses two ProAc 200mm (8-inch) professional bass drivers featuring pure polymer-impregnated and polished Kevlar-weave cones with rear lacquer and concentric weighting. Midrange frequencies are handled by a ProAc 75mm (3-inch) ultra-lightweight dome driver incorporating a redesigned waveguide and an open felt back, which helps reduce rear radiation colouration and produces a more open and detailed midrange.
High frequencies are reproduced by ProAc’s ribbon tweeter, featuring a ribbon diaphragm lighter than a human hair, rear-chamber damping and an Alnico magnet. The K10’s crossover has been developed to allow the midrange driver to operate to a higher frequency, increasing power handling while revealing additional detail. It uses premium components on a dedicated dual-layer circuit board with ProAc multistrand oxygen-free copper cable throughout, and supports optional bi-wiring and bi-amplification.
The K10 has a frequency response of 20Hz–30kHz, a sensitivity of 91.5dB at 1W/1m and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. ProAc recommends amplifiers rated between 10 and 500 watts, giving this flagship model considerable flexibility while also providing the power-handling capability required for high-volume, full-range reproduction.
The K10 is supplied with an acoustically transparent Crimplene grille, with magnetic grilles available on certain finishes. Standard finishes include Black Ash, Mahogany, Cherry, Natural Oak, Silk White and Walnut. Liquidambar, Rosewood, Ebony and Tamo Ash are offered as premium finishes to order at additional cost.
