K6 Signature
The ProAc K6 Signature is a high-end floor-standing loudspeaker that builds on the K6 with a redesigned driver layout and an upgraded midrange unit.
Its tall, slim cabinet measures 1150mm high, 212mm wide and 344mm deep, with each speaker weighing 44kg. The ribbon tweeter is positioned at ear level for a seated listener, while the bass drivers are arranged at the top and bottom of the driver array to help produce a cleaner and more extended low-frequency response.
The K6 Signature uses two ProAc 165mm (6.5-inch) Studio Professional bass/midrange drivers with polymer-impregnated Kevlar cones. Between them is a ProAc 75mm (3-inch) soft-dome midrange driver, replacing the smaller 50mm unit found in the standard K6. The midrange incorporates a special horn, billet-aluminium waveguide and vented rear chamber, helping provide greater detail and a seamless transition from bass to midrange frequencies. High frequencies are handled by ProAc’s ribbon tweeter, featuring an exceptionally lightweight diaphragm, Alnico magnet and rear-chamber damping.
The K6 Signature has a frequency response of 25Hz–30kHz, a sensitivity of 90dB at 1W/1m and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. ProAc recommends amplifiers rated between 10 and 250 watts. Its crossover uses high-quality components mounted on a dedicated dual-layer circuit board, with ProAc multistrand oxygen-free copper cable used throughout. The crossover is split to support optional bi-wiring and bi-amplification.
The cabinet is constructed from HDF of different thicknesses and heavily damped with bitumen, resulting in a carcass approximately 35mm thick. The K6 Signature is supplied with an acoustically transparent Crimplene grille, with magnetic grilles available with certain finishes. Standard finishes are Black Ash, Mahogany, Cherry, Silk White, Natural Oak and Walnut, while Liquidambar, Rosewood, Ebony and Tamo Ash are available as premium finishes at additional cost.
