Sonus faber Sonetto I bookshelf loudspeakers
The Sonus faber Sonetto I is the smallest speaker in the Sonetto range, designed as a compact two-way passive bookshelf (standmount) speaker. It sits in the middle of Sonus faber’s lineup—above entry-level models but below their more expensive Olympica and Homage ranges—making it a more accessible way into the brand’s signature sound.
Despite its size, it’s built with serious engineering. It uses a dedicated mid-woofer and a high-definition dome tweeter, delivering a frequency range roughly from 45 Hz to 25 kHz. The design includes a bass reflex system (with a carefully engineered port) to improve low-end performance, giving it more depth than you’d expect from a small speaker.
The Sonetto I is especially suited to small to medium rooms or nearfield listening setups. It’s designed to be easy to place, with a front-facing reflex port in newer versions (G2), helping it perform well even when positioned closer to walls.
Like all Sonus faber speakers, a big part of its appeal is craftsmanship. The cabinet uses natural wood, leather accents, and the brand’s signature lute-shaped design, which isn’t just aesthetic—it also helps reduce internal resonance and improve sound clarity.
Sonically, it follows the classic Sonus faber philosophy: a warm, natural, and musical presentation, with excellent vocal clarity and smooth treble. It’s not about extreme bass or aggressive detail, but about a refined, engaging listening experience that feels more “live” and organic.
Overall, the Sonetto I is a compact audiophile speaker that balances design, musicality, and practicality—ideal if you want high-end sound without needing large floorstanding speakers.
