The Wharfedale ELYSIAN R Series represents the latest evolution of the company’s flagship loudspeaker range, building upon the acclaimed original ELYSIAN models with a series of carefully engineered refinements.
Rather than a complete redesign, the new range enhances every key aspect of the platform, including driver technology, crossover design, cabinet construction and finish options, while maintaining the musicality and effortless presentation that defined its predecessor.
Developed under the direction of Peter Comeau and the original ELYSIAN engineering team, the ELYSIAN R Series introduces an improved Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter for greater openness, speed and high-frequency resolution. Refined coated glass fibre matrix bass and midrange drivers deliver enhanced clarity, control and transparency, while redesigned crossover networks featuring premium components and direct-path circuit boards ensure seamless integration and exceptional signal purity.
The range also benefits from Wharfedale’s advanced Slot-Loaded Profiled Port (SLPP) system, which improves bass extension, reduces distortion and makes speaker placement less critical within a listening room. Further cabinet refinements minimise unwanted resonance, allowing the loudspeakers to reproduce music with greater accuracy, stability and dynamic expression across the frequency range.
Visually, the ELYSIAN R Series retains the sculpted proportions of the original models while introducing a more contemporary appearance. New Matte Black and Lunar Grey finishes replace the previous piano lacquer options, with the popular Walnut High Gloss finish remaining alongside updated matte detailing. The result is a luxurious yet understated design that complements modern interiors while reflecting the craftsmanship expected from Wharfedale’s flagship loudspeakers.
