TuneTot
The Wilson Audio TuneTot is a compact two-way loudspeaker developed by Wilson Audio’s Special Applications Engineering team for installations where a traditional floor-standing speaker may not be practical
Rather than being conceived as a conventional bookshelf speaker, it is designed to preserve Wilson Audio characteristics such as transparency, dynamic nuance, soundstage resolution and tonal accuracy when placed on stands, shelves, cabinets or other surfaces. The enclosure is constructed from Wilson’s proprietary X-Material and S-Material composites to minimise cabinet vibration and resonance. It measures 14.83 inches (37.67cm) high without spikes, 8.61 inches (21.87cm) wide and 10.19 inches (25.88cm) deep, with each speaker weighing 29lb (13.15kg).
The TuneTot uses a 5.75-inch (14.61cm) doped paper-pulp woofer housed in a rear-vented enclosure. High frequencies are handled by a 1-inch (2.54cm) doped silk-fabric tweeter operating within its own sealed enclosure. Wilson states that the TuneTot’s cabinet and driver technologies are derived directly from technology developed for the larger Alexx and Sabrina loudspeakers.
The TuneTot has a frequency response of 65Hz–23kHz ±3dB using Wilson Audio’s Room Average Response measurement, with a sensitivity of 86dB at 1W/1m/1kHz. Nominal impedance is 8 ohms, with a minimum impedance of 6.61 ohms at 172Hz, while the recommended minimum amplifier power is 25 watts per channel. These specifications make the TuneTot suitable for use with a broad range of quality amplification despite its relatively compact dimensions.
Wilson Audio also offers a dedicated TuneTot Stand designed for stability, low resonance and correct time-domain alignment. The stand measures 23.375 inches high without spikes, 11.125 inches wide and 12.5 inches deep. The TuneTot is available in an extensive selection of WilsonGloss finishes, ranging from standard colours such as Galaxy Gray, GT Silver, Quartz, Carbon and Grigio Medio to numerous upgrade, premium, pearl and custom finishes.
