The Eversolo DMP-A8 Gen 2 is a high-fidelity music streamer combining network playback, a flagship DAC and a fully balanced analogue preamplifier in a single chassis. The second-generation model introduces an 8.6-inch LCD touchscreen, redesigned user interface and a faster octa-core processor backed by 8GB of memory and 64GB of internal storage.

Digital conversion is handled by separate AKM AK4191EQ and AK4499EXEQ processing and conversion stages. The DMP-A8 Gen 2 supports high-resolution playback up to PCM 768kHz/32-bit and native DSD512, while its fully balanced preamplifier uses a precision R-2R resistor-ladder analogue volume control. Eversolo specifies THD+N as low as 0.000075% and an XLR signal-to-noise ratio greater than 129dB.

Connectivity is extensive, with balanced XLR and RCA analogue inputs and outputs, USB-B, optical and coaxial digital inputs, HDMI ARC/eARC, Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 6. Digital outputs include USB, IIS, optical, coaxial and AES/EBU. A dedicated subwoofer output provides an adjustable crossover from 40Hz to 500Hz.

Streaming support includes services such as TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music and Apple Music, alongside Spotify Connect Lossless, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect. An M.2 NVMe slot allows up to 8TB of internal SSD storage, while the addition of an SFP network interface provides another option for electrically isolated network connectivity.

Housed in an aerospace-grade aluminium chassis measuring 388 × 265 × 88mm, the DMP-A8 Gen 2 is designed to operate as the digital and analogue centre of a high-end hi-fi system, connecting directly to a power amplifier or active loudspeakers without requiring a separate preamplifier.
