Construction and Materials
The Rega ND9 features a Fine Line nude diamond stylus mounted to a Boron cantilever. This combination is intended to provide low mass and high rigidity, supporting accurate mechanical response during groove tracing.
The cartridge body is manufactured from glass-filled polyphenylene sulphide (PPS), selected for its structural stability and resonance control. The internal generator uses parallel coils constructed with fine-gauge wire to maintain consistent electrical characteristics.
Generator Design
The ND9 utilises a Neodymium N55 magnet system in a low-inductance moving magnet configuration. The symmetrical generator layout is designed to maintain channel balance and controlled output characteristics.
As a moving magnet cartridge, the ND9 is compatible with standard MM phono stages and does not require specialised moving-coil amplification.
Mounting and Compatibility
The cartridge incorporates Rega’s three-point mounting system, supporting alignment consistency when installed on compatible Rega tonearms. It can also be fitted to standard tonearms using conventional mounting hardware where appropriate.
